Tekla Senior Detailer/ Final Checker Structural Steel Detailing


  • Senior modeling and connecting.
  • Model and connection checking.
  • Create complex steel connections, 3D steel models, shop fabrication drawings and erection plans.
  • Senior checking of connections within the steel model to ensure conformance with structural design drawings.
  • Includes base modeling, main structural and light steel elements, and complex structures with curved, twisting and/or ancillary steel elements.
  • Primarily structural steel detailing, with some associated miscellaneous steel.
  • All employees work as part of a team to ensure project schedules are met and drawings submitted to clients are error-free. Collaboration across teams is also required.
  • All positions are full time.


  • 8+ years of experience detailing steel using Tekla for North American buildings. 3+ of those years must be experience as a final checker.
  • Know how to check connections and all other elements in the model, not just on paper.
  • Ability to read and understand structural design drawings, architectural drawings and construction documentation.
  • In depth understanding of Tekla Structures platform, including the use of modeling, copying, macros, component macros, UDA’s, Bracing, Flex bracing, and modeling and connecting of complicated steel structures.
  • Familiarity with North American structural steel detailing standards.
  • Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced English language capabilities.

Junior Prelim Checker

Job Description

  • Helping to organize and control technical documents and emails and other communications on the network.
  • Writing design questions for structural steel projects.
  • Helping to coordinate communication between different production departments.
  • Comparing updated design documents to old ones and making reports.
  • Working directly with the Team Leaders and Project Managers to run the projects and to coordinate the steel with other disciplines like stairs, mechanical openings, concrete and joists.


  • Good English communication skills both written and verbal
  • High school or higher education in technical, mathematics, science, engineering, etc.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Motivation to work efficiently and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to develop knowledge and skills in the steel detailing industry.
  • 1 year of work experience.

Draft QC

Job Description

  • Consulting with the project manager and the final checker at start of project or zone and determine the general plan for views and details for the steel.
  • Creating all plan views and elevation views, and studying the design drawings to figure out what the details, views and sections need to look like.
  • Marking up the main views with instructions as to what details, sections and views are required, and delegating those views to the Drafters working under him or her.
  • Running the application that automatically checks and identifies all the missing marks on the e-plans before they are released for final checking, back drafting and model changes.
  • Supervising, guiding and coordinating the E-plan work, and they check it as well.
  • Controlling what clouds and other info needs to be added to the e-plans generated by his or her department prior to submittal to the client.
  • Making full use of Tekla’s cloning capabilities at all times to ensure that editing hours are kept to an absolute minimum on all projects.
  • Obtaining the list of drawings that require editing from the connectors or senior detailers as the case may be, and then assigning those drawings with specific hour targets to specific editors to edit using the editing task assignment sheet.


  • High school or higher education in technical, mathematics, science, engineering.
  • Ability to read and understand structural design drawings, architectural drawings and construction documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Tekla Structures software including macros and custom components usage.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in steel detailing.
  • Motivation to work efficiently and conform to specific drafting standards.
  • Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Editor in Tekla Structures

Job Description

  • Creating a drawing steel structures (2D) in Tekla Structures program.v
  • The preliminary check correctness dimensions and additional information required in the drawings.
  • Work from Monday to Friday full time.


  • Minimum high school education.
  • We prefer graduates of the following fields: construction, surveying, automation and robotics, energy, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, electrical.
  • However, graduates of other fields will be considered.
  • Willingness to develop knowledge in the steel detailing area.
  • Motivation to work efficiently and conform to specific drafting standards.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Knowledge of English and/or knowledge of “Tekla Structures” software will be an asset.
